Alaska Statutes 28.05.065 – Access to criminal justice information

(a) For purposes of carrying out the provisions of Alaska Stat. Chapter 28.05, Alaska Stat. Chapter 28.15, Alaska Stat. Chapter 28.33, and Alaska Stat. Chapter 28.35, an employee of the department assigned to perform functions under those chapters may access criminal justice information about an adult or minor charged with or convicted of an offense.

Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 28.05.065

criminal justice information: has the meaning given in Alaska Stat. See Alaska Statutes 28.90.990
department: means the Department of Administration. See Alaska Statutes 28.90.990
motor vehicle: means a vehicle which is self-propelled except a vehicle moved by human or animal power. See Alaska Statutes 28.90.990

(b) For purposes of obtaining access to criminal justice information maintained by the Department of Public Safety under Alaska Stat. Chapter 12.62, the unit assigned motor vehicle functions in the Department of Administration is a criminal justice agency conducting a criminal justice activity.

(c) In this section,

(1) “criminal justice activity” has the meaning given in Alaska Stat. § 12.62.900;

(2) “criminal justice agency” has the meaning given in Alaska Stat. § 12.62.900.
