(a) A person convicted of an offense against the state shall be committed to the custody of the commissioner for the term of imprisonment that the court directs.

Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 33.30.051

  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(b) A person restrained under AS 26.05.400 or convicted of an offense by court-martial under Alaska Stat. Chapter 26.05 and confined under AS 26.05.405 shall be committed to the custody of the commissioner for the period of restraint or confinement as directed by the adjutant general.
