If the authority receives a petition requesting power cost equalization, signed by at least 25 percent of the customers of an electric utility that is subject to rate regulation under Alaska Stat. Chapter 42.05 and that has not applied for power cost equalization under Alaska Stat. § 42.45.100 – 42.45.150, the authority shall require the utility to submit a power cost equalization application. Upon a determination of eligibility for power cost equalization, the utility, as a part of its service, shall receive power cost equalization and pass power cost equalization benefits to its customers under Alaska Stat. § 42.45.100 – 42.45.150.
