(a) After a ruling by the department on an appeal made under Alaska Stat. § 43.56.110, the owner or a municipality may further appeal to the board. The appeal must be filed in writing within 50 days of the effective date of the notice of assessment.

Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 43.56.120

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • municipality: means a political subdivision incorporated under the laws of the state that is a home rule or general law city, a home rule or general law borough, or a unified municipality. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • writing: includes printing. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(b) The board shall provide by regulation for notices of appeals to interested persons and municipalities.
