Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 45.50.230

  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • property: includes real and personal property. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(1) while in the possession and control of the person in whose name the brand is registered, to be the sole property of that person; and
(2) to be “abandoned property” if, 30 days after the time public notice has expired as provided under Alaska Stat. § 45.50.234 or 90 days from the date of reporting required under Alaska Stat. § 45.50.232 or from the date of expiration of any extended recovery period under Alaska Stat. § 45.50.237, it is not in the possession and control of the owner or rightful transporter and is

(A) adrift in the water of the state,
(B) stranded on the beaches, marshes, tideland, or shoreland of the water of the state, or
(C) partially or wholly submerged in the water of the state.
