- action: includes any matter or proceeding in a court, civil or criminal. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
- airport: means an area of land or water designed for the landing and taking-off of aircraft and used or to be used as a point of arrival or departure by air. See Alaska Statutes 02.25.110
- airport hazard: means anything that may obstruct or interfere with the navigation or operation of aircraft on or in the vicinity of an airport, including man-made structures of all kinds, trees and other natural growths, lights or beacons, and electrical or electronic devices emitting signals capable of disrupting radio communication. See Alaska Statutes 02.25.110
- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- Continuance: Putting off of a hearing ot trial until a later time.
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- department: means the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. See Alaska Statutes 02.25.110
- Fraud: Intentional deception resulting in injury to another.
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
- person: means an individual, firm, copartnership, corporation, company, association, joint stock association, or body politic, and includes a trustee, receiver, assignee, or similar representative. See Alaska Statutes 02.25.110
- person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
- state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
- structure: means an object constructed or installed by man, including buildings, towers, smokestacks, and overhead transmission lines. See Alaska Statutes 02.25.110
- tree: means any object of natural growth. See Alaska Statutes 02.25.110
