Terms Used In Arizona Laws 28-2486

  • Certificate of title: means a paper document or an electronic record that is issued by the department and that indicates ownership of a vehicle. See Arizona Laws 28-101
  • Department: means the department of transportation acting directly or through its duly authorized officers and agents. See Arizona Laws 28-101
  • Owner: means :

    (a) A person who holds the legal title of a vehicle. See Arizona Laws 28-101

1. The application for a new title is granted.

2. The old title is marked "canceled" on its face.

3. A photostatic copy paid for by the applicant is made of the canceled certificate of title.

B. The photostatic copy is deemed to be the original for purposes of canceled title records of the department.
