An action brought to recover possession of or to clear title to real property claimed by this state or by a political subdivision of this state as a public highway or airport or an action brought to recover compensation or damage for property taken or damaged in or for the construction of a public highway or airport shall be commenced within two years after the cause of action has accrued and not afterward.

- Action: includes any matter or proceeding in a court, civil or criminal. See Arizona Laws 1-215
- highway: means the entire width between the boundary lines of every way if a part of the way is open to the use of the public for purposes of vehicular travel. See Arizona Laws 28-101
- Property: includes both real and personal property. See Arizona Laws 1-215
- Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
- State: means a state of the United States and the District of Columbia. See Arizona Laws 28-101
