A. An applicant for licensure shall take a written examination approved and administered by the national board for certification in occupational therapy, incorporated. The examination shall test an applicant’s knowledge of the basic and clinical services relating to providing occupational therapy services, techniques and methods.

Terms Used In Arizona Laws 32-3424

  • Board: means the board of occupational therapy examiners. See Arizona Laws 32-3401
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Occupational therapy: means the use of therapeutic activities or modalities to promote engagement in activities with individuals who are limited by physical or cognitive injury or illness, psychosocial dysfunction, developmental or learning disabilities, sensory processing or modulation deficits or the aging process in order to achieve optimum functional performance, maximize independence, prevent disability and maintain health.   • Occupational therapy services: includes the following:

    (a) Developing an intervention and training plan that is based on the occupational therapist's evaluation of the client's occupational history and experiences, including the client's daily living activities, development, activity demands, values and needs. See Arizona Laws 32-3401

B. The applicant shall arrange for the examination following successful completion of the academic and fieldwork requirements of section 32-3423 and submit evidence of successful completion of the examination.
