A. The peace officer training equipment fund is established consisting of monies deposited pursuant to sections 12-114 and 12-116.10. The state treasurer shall administer the fund. Monies in the fund may be used only for peace officer equipment.

Terms Used In Arizona Laws 41-1731

  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Peace officer: means any personnel of the department designated by the director as being a peace officer under the provisions of this chapter. See Arizona Laws 41-1701

B. The state treasurer shall invest and divest monies in the fund as provided by section 35-313, and monies earned from investment shall be credited to the fund.

C. Monies in the fund:

1. Do not revert to the state general fund at the end of the fiscal year.

2. Are exempt from the provisions of section 35-190 relating to lapsing of appropriations.

3. Are subject to legislative appropriation.
