Terms Used In Arizona Laws > Title 6 > Chapter 6 - Debt Management Companies
- Absconder: means a probationer who has moved from the probationer's primary residence without permission of the probation officer, who cannot be located within ninety days of the previous contact and against whom a petition to revoke has been filed in the superior court alleging that the probationer's whereabouts are unknown. - Acquittal:
- Judgement that a criminal defendant has not been proved guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
- A verdict of "not guilty."
- Act: means a bodily movement. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Advertisement: means information or materials, other than nonpaid social media messages, that are mailed, e-mailed, posted, distributed, published, displayed, delivered, broadcasted or placed in a communication medium and that are for the purpose of influencing an election. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Affiliate: means any organization that controls, is controlled by or is under common control with a corporation, limited liability company or labor organization. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Agency: means any business serving the public, which as part of its services accepts money for and on behalf of a licensee. See Arizona Laws 6-701
- Agent: means any person who has actual authority, either express or implied, to represent or make decisions on behalf of another person. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Allegation: something that someone says happened.
- Aquatic wildlife: means fish, amphibians, mollusks, crustaceans and soft-shelled turtles. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Assets: (1) The property comprising the estate of a deceased person, or (2) the property in a trust account.
- Associate director: means the associate director of the division. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Associate director: means the associate director of the division. See Arizona Laws 3-1771
- Bank: means a corporation that holds a banking permit issued pursuant to chapter 2 of this title. See Arizona Laws 6-101
- Best effort: means that a committee treasurer or treasurer's agent makes at least one written effort, including an attempt by e-mail, text message, private message through social media or other similar communication, or at least one oral effort that is documented in writing to identify the contributor of an incomplete contribution. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Branch: means any banking office other than the principal banking office. See Arizona Laws 6-101
- Branch office: means any office operated solely for the purpose of accepting money and performing other services for a licensee. See Arizona Laws 6-701
- Business income: means :
(a) Monies received by a person in commercial transactions in the ordinary course of the person's regular trade, business or investments. See Arizona Laws 16-971
- Calendar quarter: means a period of three consecutive calendar months ending on March 31, June 30, September 30 or December 31. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Calfhood vaccination: means an official vaccination given to a female dairy or beef type animal at the age prescribed by the director. See Arizona Laws 3-1771
- Candidate: means an individual who receives contributions or makes expenditures or who gives consent to another person to receive contributions or make expenditures on behalf of that individual in connection with the candidate's nomination, election or retention for any public office. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Candidate committee: includes the candidate. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Carcass: means all parts, including viscera, of a slaughtered animal that are capable of being used for human food. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Chief judge: The judge who has primary responsibility for the administration of a court but also decides cases; chief judges are determined by seniority.
- Chief veterinary meat inspector: means a qualified licensed veterinarian appointed by the director to supervise the state meat inspection service for the state and to carry out the provisions of this chapter. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Commercial fertilizer: means any substance that contains one or more recognized plant nutrients, that is used for its plant nutrient content and that is designed for use or claimed to have value in promoting plant growth, except unmanipulated animal and vegetable manures, and other products exempted by rule. See Arizona Laws 3-262
- Commission: means the Arizona game and fish commission. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Commission: means the citizens clean elections commission. See Arizona Laws 16-971
- Committee: means a candidate committee, a political action committee or a political party. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Conduct: means an act or omission and its accompanying culpable mental state. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Contribution: means any money, advance, deposit or other thing of value that is made to a person for the purpose of influencing an election. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Contribution: means money, donation, gift, loan or advance or other thing of value, including goods and services. See Arizona Laws 16-971
- Control: means to possess, directly or indirectly, the power to direct or to cause the direction of the management or policies of another organization, whether through voting power, ownership, contract or otherwise. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
- Coordinated party expenditures: means expenditures that are made by a political party to directly pay for goods or services on behalf of its nominee. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- coordination: means the coordination of an expenditure as prescribed by section 16-922. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Credit report: A detailed report of an individual's credit history prepared by a credit bureau and used by a lender in determining a loan applicant's creditworthiness. Source: OCC
- Creditor: means a person for whose benefit monies are being collected and disbursed by a licensee. See Arizona Laws 6-701
- Crime: means a misdemeanor or a felony. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Criminal negligence: means , with respect to a result or to a circumstance described by a statute defining an offense, that a person fails to perceive a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the result will occur or that the circumstance exists. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Criminal street gang: means an ongoing formal or informal association of persons in which members or associates individually or collectively engage in the commission, attempted commission, facilitation or solicitation of any felony act and that has at least one individual who is a criminal street gang member. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Culpable mental state: means intentionally, knowingly, recklessly or with criminal negligence as those terms are defined in this paragraph:
(a) "Intentionally" or "with the intent to" means, with respect to a result or to conduct described by a statute defining an offense, that a person's objective is to cause that result or to engage in that conduct. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Dangerous drug: means dangerous drug as defined in section 13-3401. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Dangerous instrument: means anything that under the circumstances in which it is used, attempted to be used or threatened to be used is readily capable of causing death or serious physical injury. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Dangerous offense: means an offense involving the discharge, use or threatening exhibition of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument or the intentional or knowing infliction of serious physical injury on another person. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Deadly physical force: means force that is used with the purpose of causing death or serious physical injury or in the manner of its use or intended use is capable of creating a substantial risk of causing death or serious physical injury. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Deadly weapon: means anything designed for lethal use, including a firearm. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Debt management company: means a corporation, company, firm, partnership, association or society, as well as a natural person, that for compensation engages in the business of receiving money, or evidences thereof, in this state or from a resident of this state as agent of a debtor for the purpose of distributing the same to his creditors in payment or partial payment of his obligations. See Arizona Laws 6-701
- Debtor: means a person from whom monies are being accepted for disbursement to creditors. See Arizona Laws 6-701
- Department: means the department of insurance and financial institutions. See Arizona Laws 6-101
- Department: means the Arizona game and fish department. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Deposition: An oral statement made before an officer authorized by law to administer oaths. Such statements are often taken to examine potential witnesses, to obtain discovery, or to be used later in trial.
- Deputy director: means the deputy director of the financial institutions division of the department. See Arizona Laws 6-101
- Distributor: means a person, firm or corporation that is engaged in the business of receiving carcasses, meat, meat food products, meat by-products, poultry or poultry products from state or federally inspected establishments and storing and distributing properly identified products to commercial outlets, processors or individuals and that conducts no processing. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- District office: means an elected office established or organized pursuant to title 15 or 48. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Division: means the animal services division of the Arizona department of agriculture. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Division: means the animal services division of the Arizona department of agriculture. See Arizona Laws 3-1771
- Domicile: means a person's true, fixed and permanent home and principal residence. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Donor: The person who makes a gift.
- Earmarked: means a designation, instruction or encumbrance between the transferor of a contribution and a transferee that requires the transferee to make a contribution to a clearly identified candidate. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Economic loss: means any loss incurred by a person as a result of the commission of an offense. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Election: means any election for any ballot measure in this state or any candidate election during a primary, general, recall, special or runoff election for any office in this state other than a federal office and a political party office prescribed by chapter 5, article 2 of this title. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Election cycle: means the two-year period beginning on January 1 in the year after a statewide general election and ending on December 31 in the year of a statewide general election or, for cities and towns, the two-year period beginning on the first day of the calendar quarter after the calendar quarter in which the city's or town's second, runoff or general election is scheduled and ending on the last day of the calendar quarter in which the city's or town's immediately following second, runoff or general election is scheduled, however that election is designated by the city or town. - Election cycle: means the time beginning the day after general election day in even-numbered years and continuing through the end of general election day in the next even-numbered year. See Arizona Laws 16-971
- Employee: means an individual who is entitled to compensation for labor or services performed for the individual's employer. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Employer: means any person that pays compensation to and directs the labor or services of any individual in the course of employment. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Enforcement officer: means the attorney general or the county, city or town attorney with authority to collect fines or issue penalties with respect to a given election pursuant to section 16-938. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Enterprise: includes any corporation, association, labor union or other legal entity. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Entity: means a corporation, limited liability company, labor organization, partnership, trust, association, organization, joint venture, cooperative, unincorporated organization or association or other organized group that consists of more than one individual. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- escape: means :
(i) A departure from custody or from a juvenile secure care facility, a juvenile detention facility or an adult correctional facility in which the person is held or detained, with knowledge that the departure is not allowed, or the failure to return to custody or detention following a temporary leave granted for a specific purpose or for a limited period. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Establishment: means a mobile or stationary building, plant, vehicle or structure where meat or meat food products are slaughtered or processed or offered for sale. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Ex officio: Literally, by virtue of one's office.
- Excess contribution: means a contribution that exceeds the applicable contribution limits for a particular election. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Exempt slaughterer: means a person engaged for compensation in this state in the business of slaughtering or dressing animals for human consumption which are not to be sold or offered for sale. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Expenditure: means any purchase, payment or other thing of value that is made by a person for the purpose of influencing an election. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Fair market value: The price at which an asset would change hands in a transaction between a willing, informed buyer and a willing, informed seller.
- Falconry: means the sport of hunting or taking quarry with a trained raptor. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Felony: means an offense for which a sentence to a term of imprisonment in the custody of the state department of corrections is authorized by any law of this state. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Filing officer: means the secretary of state or the county, city or town officer in charge of elections for that jurisdiction who accepts statements and reports for those elections pursuant to section 16-928. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Firearm: means any loaded or unloaded handgun, pistol, revolver, rifle, shotgun or other weapon that will or is designed to or may readily be converted to expel a projectile by the action of expanding gases, except that it does not include a firearm in permanently inoperable condition. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Firewall: means a written policy that precludes one person from sharing information with another person. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Fishing: means to lure, attract or pursue aquatic wildlife in such a manner that the wildlife may be captured or killed. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Fraud: Intentional deception resulting in injury to another.
- Fur-bearing animals: means muskrats, raccoons, otters, weasels, bobcats, beavers, badgers and ringtail cats. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Game fish: means trout of all species, bass of all species, catfish of all species, sunfish of all species, northern pike, walleye and yellow perch. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Game mammals: means deer, elk, bear, pronghorn (antelope), bighorn sheep, bison (buffalo), peccary (javelina), mountain lion, tree squirrel and cottontail rabbit. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
- Government: means the state, any political subdivision of the state or any department, agency, board, commission, institution or governmental instrumentality of or within the state or political subdivision. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Governmental function: means any activity that a public servant is legally authorized to undertake on behalf of a government. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Guarantor: A party who agrees to be responsible for the payment of another party's debts should that party default. Source: OCC
- Guide: means a person who meets any of the following:
(a) Advertises for guiding services. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Historical prior felony conviction: means :
(a) Any prior felony conviction for which the offense of conviction either:
(i) Mandated a term of imprisonment except for a violation of chapter 34 of this title involving a drug below the threshold amount. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- identify: means :
(a) For an individual, the individual's first and last name, residence location or street address and occupation and the name of the individual's primary employer. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Identity: means :
(a) In the case of an individual, the name, mailing address, occupation and employer of the individual
(b) In the case of any other person, the name, mailing address, federal tax status and state of incorporation, registration or partnership, if any. See Arizona Laws 16-971
- In-kind contribution: means a contribution of goods, services or anything of value that is provided without charge or at less than the usual and normal charge. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- In-kind contribution: means a contribution of goods, services or anything of value that is provided without charge or at less than the usual and normal charge. See Arizona Laws 16-971
- Incomplete contribution: means any contribution that is received by a committee for which the contributor's complete identification has not been obtained. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Independent expenditure: means an expenditure by a person, other than a candidate committee, that complies with both of the following:
(a) Expressly advocates the election or defeat of a clearly identified candidate. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Indictment: The formal charge issued by a grand jury stating that there is enough evidence that the defendant committed the crime to justify having a trial; it is used primarily for felonies.
- Inspector: includes chief veterinary meat inspector, veterinary meat inspector, lay meat inspector, livestock officer or any other employee appointed by the associate director, with the approval of the director, to carry out the purposes of this chapter, the livestock laws and rules adopted thereunder. - Insurance producer: means a person that:
(a) Is required to be licensed to sell, solicit or negotiate insurance. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Intoxication: means any mental or physical incapacity resulting from use of drugs, toxic vapors or intoxicating liquors. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Itemized: means that each contribution received or expenditure made is set forth separately. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Knowingly: means , with respect to conduct or to a circumstance described by a statute defining an offense, that a person is aware or believes that the person's conduct is of that nature or that the circumstance exists. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Labor organization: means any employee representation organization that exists for the purpose of dealing with employers concerning grievances, labor disputes, wages, rates of pay, hours of employment or other conditions of employment. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Lay meat inspector: means any person qualified by the chief veterinary meat inspector and appointed by the associate director, with the approval of the director, to work under the supervision of the chief veterinary meat inspector. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Legislative office: means the office of representative in the state house of representatives or senator in the state senate. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Legislative session: That part of a chamber's daily session in which it considers legislative business (bills, resolutions, and actions related thereto).
- License: means a license issued under this chapter. See Arizona Laws 6-701
- Licensee: means a corporation, company, firm, partnership, association or society, as well as a natural person, licensed by the deputy director to engage in the business of a debt management company pursuant to this chapter. See Arizona Laws 6-701
- Livestock officer: means a livestock officer employed by the department pursuant to section 3-1208. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Magistrate: means an officer having power to issue a warrant for the arrest of a person charged with a public offense and includes the chief justice and justices of the supreme court, judges of the superior court, judges of the court of appeals, justices of the peace and judges of a municipal court. See Arizona Laws 1-215
- Meat: means the edible part of the muscle of cattle, sheep, swine, goats or equines which is skeletal or which is found in the tongue, in the diaphragm, in the heart or in the esophagus, with or without the accompanying and overlying fat, and the portions of bone, skin, sinew, nerve and blood vessels which normally accompany the muscle tissue and which are not separated from it in the process of dressing. - Meat by-product: means any edible part other than meat which has been derived from one or more cattle, sheep, goats, swine, horses, mules or other equines. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Meat food product: means any article of food or any article intended for or capable of being used as human food which is derived or prepared, in whole or in substantial and definite part, from any portion of any cattle, sheep, swine, goats, horses, mules or other equines, except such articles as organotherapeutic substances, meat juice, meat extract, and the like, which are only for medicinal purposes and are advertised only to the medical profession. - Meat processor: means any person, including jobbers, wholesalers or slaughtering establishments, who changes meat or meat food products in any way by cutting, mixing, blending, canning, curing or otherwise preparing meat or meat food products for human consumption. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Migratory game birds: means wild waterfowl, including ducks, geese and swans, sandhill cranes, all coots, all gallinules, common snipe, wild doves and bandtail pigeons. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Misdemeanor: means an offense for which a sentence to a term of imprisonment other than to the custody of the state department of corrections is authorized by any law of this state. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- negligently: import a want of such attention to the nature or probable consequence of the act or omission as a prudent man ordinarily bestows in acting in his own concerns. See Arizona Laws 1-215
- Nominee: means a candidate who prevails in a primary election for partisan office and includes the nominee's candidate committee. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
- Oath: includes an affirmation or declaration. See Arizona Laws 1-215
- Official vaccination: means a calfhood vaccination that is registered with the division, with a vaccine approved by the director on the state veterinarian's recommendation, and properly identified as such, given to a dairy type or beef animal at the age prescribed by the director and administered by a licensed veterinarian. See Arizona Laws 3-1771
- Omission: means the failure to perform an act as to which a duty of performance is imposed by law. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Original monies: means business income or an individual's personal monies. See Arizona Laws 16-971
- Peace officer: means any person vested by law with a duty to maintain public order and make arrests and includes a constable. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Peace officers: means sheriffs of counties, constables, marshals, policemen of cities and towns, commissioned personnel of the department of public safety, personnel who are employed by the state department of corrections and the department of juvenile corrections and who have received a certificate from the Arizona peace officer standards and training board, peace officers who are appointed by a multicounty water conservation district and who have received a certificate from the Arizona peace officer standards and training board, police officers who are appointed by community college district governing boards and who have received a certificate from the Arizona peace officer standards and training board, police officers who are appointed by the Arizona board of regents and who have received a certificate from the Arizona peace officer standards and training board, police officers who are appointed by the governing body of a public airport pursuant to section 28-8426 and who have received a certificate from the Arizona peace officer standards and training board, peace officers who are appointed by a private postsecondary institution pursuant to section 15-1897 and who have received a certificate from the Arizona peace officer standards and training board and special agents from the office of the attorney general, or of a county attorney, and who have received a certificate from the Arizona peace officer standards and training board. - Person: means a human being and, as the context requires, an enterprise, a public or private corporation, an unincorporated association, a partnership, a firm, a society, a government, a governmental authority or an individual or entity capable of holding a legal or beneficial interest in property. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Person: means an individual or a candidate, nominee, committee, corporation, limited liability company, labor organization, partnership, trust, association, organization, joint venture, cooperative or unincorporated organization or association. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Person: includes both a natural person and an entity such as a corporation, limited liability company, labor organization, partnership or association, regardless of legal form. See Arizona Laws 16-971
- Person: includes individual, partnership, association, firm or corporation. See Arizona Laws 3-262
- Person: includes an individual, firm, corporation, company or association. See Arizona Laws 3-1771
- Personal monies: means any of the following:
(a) Assets to which the individual or individual's spouse has either legal title or an equitable interest. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Petty offense: A federal misdemeanor punishable by six months or less in prison. Source: U.S. Courts
- Physical injury: means the impairment of physical condition. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Political action committee: means an entity that is required to register as a political action committee pursuant to section 16-905. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Political party: means a committee that meets the requirements for recognition as a political party pursuant to chapter 5 of this title. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Population: means the population according to the most recent United States decennial census. See Arizona Laws 1-215
- Possession: means a voluntary act if the defendant knowingly exercised dominion or control over property. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Predatory animals: means foxes, skunks, coyotes and bobcats. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Primary purpose: means an entity's predominant purpose. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Property: means anything of value, tangible or intangible. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- public offense: means conduct for which a sentence to a term of imprisonment or of a fine is provided by any law of the state in which it occurred or by any law, regulation or ordinance of a political subdivision of that state and, if the act occurred in a state other than this state, it would be so punishable under the laws, regulations or ordinances of this state or of a political subdivision of this state if the act had occurred in this state. - Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
- railroad: as used in this article includes any person, firm or corporation operating a railroad. See Arizona Laws 3-1701
- Raptors: means birds that are members of the order of falconiformes or strigiformes and includes falcons, hawks, owls, eagles and other birds that the commission may classify as raptors. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Reactor: means an animal afflicted with brucellosis as determined by a test approved by the director, except an officially calfhood vaccinated animal under the age prescribed by the director on the state veterinarian's recommendation. See Arizona Laws 3-1771
- Recklessly: means , with respect to a result or to a circumstance described by a statute defining an offense, that a person is aware of and consciously disregards a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the result will occur or that the circumstance exists. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Restaurant: means any person who cooks or otherwise prepares and serves meat or meat food products for consumption by the ultimate consumer. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Retention: means the election process by which a superior court judge, appellate court judge or supreme court justice is retained in office as prescribed by article VI, section 38 or 40, Constitution of Arizona. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Separate segregated fund: means a fund established by a corporation, limited liability company, labor organization or partnership that is required to register as a political action committee. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Serious physical injury: includes physical injury that creates a reasonable risk of death, or that causes serious and permanent disfigurement, serious impairment of health or loss or protracted impairment of the function of any bodily organ or limb. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
- Slaughter: means to kill cattle, sheep, swine, goats, horses, mules or other equines and to prepare the carcasses or parts of carcasses for human consumption. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Social media messages: means forms of communication, including internet sites for social networking or blogging, through which users create a personal profile and participate in online communities to share information, ideas and personal messages. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Sponsor: means any person that establishes, administers or contributes financial support to the administration of a political action committee or that has common or overlapping membership or officers with that political action committee. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Standing committee: means a political action committee or political party that is active in more than one reporting jurisdiction in this state and that files a statement of organization in a format prescribed by the secretary of state. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- State meat inspection service: means the meat inspection provided in sections 3-2041 through 3-2047 and sections 3-2049, 3-2051 and 3-2052, providing approved slaughtering plants with inspectors during all periods of slaughter to conduct antemortem and postmortem inspections of all cattle, sheep, swine, goats, horses, mules or other equines slaughtered. - Statewide: means all lands except those areas lying within the boundaries of state and federal refuges, parks and monuments, unless specifically provided differently by commission order. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Statewide office: means the office of governor, secretary of state, state treasurer, attorney general, superintendent of public instruction, corporation commissioner or mine inspector. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
- Surplus monies: means those monies of a terminating committee that remain after all of the committee's expenditures have been made, all debts have been extinguished and the committee ceases accepting contributions. See Arizona Laws 16-901
- Take: means pursuing, shooting, hunting, fishing, trapping, killing, capturing, snaring or netting wildlife or placing or using any net or other device or trap in a manner that may result in capturing or killing wildlife. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Traceable monies: means :
(a) Monies that have been given, loaned or promised to be given to a covered person and for which no donor has opted out of their use or transfer for campaign media spending pursuant to section 16-972. See Arizona Laws 16-971
- Transfer records: means a written record of the identity of each person that directly or indirectly contributed or transferred more than $2,500 of original monies used for campaign media spending, the amount of each contribution or transfer and the person to whom those monies were transferred. See Arizona Laws 16-971
- trapping: means taking wildlife in any manner except with a gun or other implement in hand. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Trout: means all species of the family salmonidae, including grayling. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Ultimate consumer: means the person drinking or consuming milk or milk products. See Arizona Laws 3-1771
- Uphold: The decision of an appellate court not to reverse a lower court decision.
- Upland game birds: means quail, partridge, grouse and pheasants. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Veterinary meat inspector: means a qualified licensed veterinarian appointed by the associate director, with the director's approval, to work under the direction of the chief veterinary meat inspector. See Arizona Laws 3-2001
- Voluntary act: means a bodily movement performed consciously and as a result of effort and determination. See Arizona Laws 13-105
- Wild: means , in reference to mammals and birds, those species that are normally found in a state of nature. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Wildlife: means all wild mammals, wild birds and the nests or eggs thereof, reptiles, amphibians, mollusks, crustaceans and fish, including their eggs or spawn. See Arizona Laws 17-101
- Youth: means a person who is under eighteen years of age. See Arizona Laws 17-101
