On the 125th day prior to the day fixed for the general district election, the secretary shall deliver a notice to the county elections official. The notice shall bear the secretary’s signature and the district seal and shall also contain both of the following:
(a) The elective offices of the district to be filled at the next general district election, specifying which offices, if any, are for the balance of an unexpired term.

- candidate: includes any officeholder who is subject to a recall election. See California Elections Code 305
- Election: means any election including a primary that is provided for under this code. See California Elections Code 318
- Elections official: means any of the following:
California Elections Code 320
- General district election: means an election held pursuant to the provisions of this part. See California Elections Code 10500
- Secretary: means the secretary of the governing body or a person designated by him or her to perform a duty of the secretary. See California Elections Code 10500
- Signature: includes either of the following:
California Elections Code 354.5
(b) Whether the district or the candidate is to pay for the publication of a statement of qualifications pursuant to Section 13307.
