- AANHPI: means Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander. See California Education Code 89297
- Attorney-in-fact: A person who, acting as an agent, is given written authorization by another person to transact business for him (her) out of court.
- Board: means the Respiratory Care Board of California. See California Business and Professions Code 3704
- Election: means any election including a primary that is provided for under this code. See California Elections Code 318
- Licensee: means any person authorized by a license, certificate, registration, or other means to engage in a business or profession regulated by this code or referred to in Sections 1000 and 3600. See California Business and Professions Code 23.8
- Program: means the AANHPI Student Achievement Program established pursuant to this article. See California Education Code 89297
- Respiratory care: includes "respiratory therapy" or "inhalation therapy" where those terms mean respiratory care. See California Business and Professions Code 3704
- Voter: means any elector who is registered under this code. See California Elections Code 359
