The following definitions shall govern the construction and interpretation of this part:

(a)  “Corporation” means a corporation formed pursuant to Section 52550.

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.

(b)  “Low-income housing” means housing available at affordable rent to lower income households, as defined in Section 50079.5.

(c)  “Nonprofit corporation” means a nonprofit corporation organized pursuant to the Nonprofit Corporation Law (Division 2 (commencing with Section 5000) of Title 1 of the Corporations Code), or a limited equity housing cooperative, as defined by § 11003.4 of the Business and Professions Code.

(d)  “Very low income housing” means housing available at affordable rents to very low income households as defined by Section 50105.
