Any person failing to comply with the requirements of Section 24550 is guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding six months, or by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by both that fine and imprisonment.
