- aircraft: means any contrivance used for navigation of, or flight in, the air. See California Public Utilities Code 5501
- commercial air operator: means any person owning, controlling, operating, renting, or managing aircraft for any commercial purpose for compensation. See California Public Utilities Code 5500
- Commission: means the Public Utilities Commission created by §. See California Public Utilities Code 20
- District: as used in this part , means the Southern California Rapid Transit District. See California Public Utilities Code 30004
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
- peace officer: signify any one of the officers mentioned in Chapter 4. See California Penal Code 7
- person: means any individual, firm, partnership, private, municipal or public corporation, limited liability company, company, association, joint stock association, trustee, receiver, assignee, or other similar representative. See California Public Utilities Code 5502
- person: includes a corporation as well as a natural person. See California Penal Code 7
- Person: means any person, firm, association, organization, partnership, business trust, corporation, limited liability company, or company. See California Water Code 19
- Probation: A sentencing alternative to imprisonment in which the court releases convicted defendants under supervision as long as certain conditions are observed.
- property: includes property real and personal. See California Civil Code 14
- property: includes both real and personal property. See California Penal Code 7
- Public agency: as used in this part , includes the State of California, and any county, city and county, city, district, or other political subdivision or public entity of, or organized under the laws of, this State. See California Public Utilities Code 30007
- Restitution: The court-ordered payment of money by the defendant to the victim for damages caused by the criminal action.
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the district and territories. See California Penal Code 7
- State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Water Code 18
- Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
- Summons: Another word for subpoena used by the criminal justice system.
- Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
- United States: means the United States of America, and in relation to any particular matter includes the officers, agents, employees, agencies, or instrumentalities authorized to act in relation thereto. See California Water Code 20
