The State of California or any department thereof having jurisdiction over any real property subject to assessment as provided in this chapter shall have the same right provided for in this division or other applicable law to pay the amount of money assessed against such real property without interest as does a private person owning property assessed under this division or such other law.

Terms Used In California Streets and Highways Code 5323

  • Department: means the Department of Transportation of this state. See California Streets and Highways Code 20
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Person: means any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, organization, limited liability company, or business trust. See California Streets and Highways Code 19
  • Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
