Terms Used In California Codes > Water Code > Division 11 > Part 6 - COOPERATION
- Access: means a personal inspection and review of a record or an accurate copy of a record, or receipt of an accurate copy of a record, an oral description or communication of a record or an accurate copy of a record, and a request to release a copy of any record. See California Education Code 49061
- Act: means the California Consumer Power and Conservation Financing Authority Act. See California Public Utilities Code 3302
- Affirmed: In the practice of the appellate courts, the decree or order is declared valid and will stand as rendered in the lower court.
- Authority: means the California Consumer Power and Conservation Financing Authority established pursuant to Section 3320 and any board, commission, department, or officer succeeding to the functions thereof, or to whom the powers conferred upon the authority by this division shall be given by law. See California Public Utilities Code 3302
- Board: means the Board of Directors of the California Consumer Power and Conservation Financing Authority. See California Public Utilities Code 3302
- Bond purchase agreement: means a contractual agreement executed between the authority and an underwriter or underwriters and, where appropriate, a participating party, whereby the authority agrees to sell bonds issued pursuant to this division. See California Public Utilities Code 3302
- Bonds: means bonds, including structured, senior, and subordinated bonds or other securities. See California Public Utilities Code 3302
- City: includes city and county and "incorporated town" but does not include "unincorporated town" or "village. See California Public Utilities Code 19
- Classification: means that each position in the classified service shall have a designated title, a regular minimum number of assigned hours per day, days per week, and months per year, a specific statement of the duties required to be performed by the employees in each such position, and the regular monthly salary ranges for each such position. See California Education Code 45101
- Commission: means the Public Utilities Commission created by §. See California Public Utilities Code 20
- commissioners: as used in this chapter shall refer to that engineer. See California Water Code 46156
- Continuance: Putting off of a hearing ot trial until a later time.
- contract with the United States: means a contract made under the provisions of the Federal Reclamation Law for any or all of the following purposes:

- County: includes city and county. See California Water Code 14
- County: includes city and county. See California Public Utilities Code 18
- county water district: means a county water district which has heretofore executed or shall hereafter execute a contract with the United States for any or all of the following purposes:

- Directory information: means one or more of the following items: pupil's name, address, telephone number, date of birth, email address, major field of study, participation in officially recognized activities and sports, weight and height of members of athletic teams, dates of attendance, degrees and awards received, and the most recent previous public or private school attended by the pupil. See California Education Code 49061
- districts: means one or more irrigation districts together with one or more county water districts. See California Water Code 23450
- Energy Commission: means the State Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission. See California Public Utilities Code 20
- Enterprise: means a revenue-producing improvement, building, system, plant, works, facilities, or undertaking used for or useful for the generation or production of electric energy for lighting, heating, and power for public or private uses. See California Public Utilities Code 3302
- Fund: means the California Consumer Power and Conservation Financing Authority Fund. See California Public Utilities Code 3302
- Guarantor: A party who agrees to be responsible for the payment of another party's debts should that party default. Source: OCC
- Parent: means a natural parent, an adopted parent, or legal guardian. See California Education Code 49061
- Participating party: means either of the following:

- Person: means any person, firm, association, organization, partnership, business trust, corporation, limited liability company, or company. See California Water Code 19
- Program: means a program that provides financial assistance, as provided in Article 6 (commencing with Section 3365). See California Public Utilities Code 3302
- Project: means plants, facilities, equipment, appliances, structures, expansions, and improvements within the state that serve the purposes of this division as approved by the authority, and all activities and expenses necessary to initiate and complete those projects described in Article 5 (commencing with Section 3350) and Article 7 (commencing with Section 3368), of Chapter 3. See California Public Utilities Code 3302
- Prosecute: To charge someone with a crime. A prosecutor tries a criminal case on behalf of the government.
- Recess: A temporary interruption of the legislative business.
- Recourse: An arrangement in which a bank retains, in form or in substance, any credit risk directly or indirectly associated with an asset it has sold (in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles) that exceeds a pro rata share of the bank's claim on the asset. If a bank has no claim on an asset it has sold, then the retention of any credit risk is recourse. Source: FDIC
- Revenues: means all receipts, purchase payments, loan repayments, lease payments, rents, fees and charges, and all other income or receipts derived by the authority from an enterprise, or by the authority or a participating party from any other financing arrangement undertaken by the authority or a participating party, including, but not limited to, all receipts from a bond purchase agreement, and any income or revenue derived from the investment of any money in any fund or account of the authority or a participating party. - School district: means any school district maintaining any kindergarten or any of grades 1 to 12, inclusive, any public school providing instruction in any kindergarten or any of grades 1 to 12, inclusive, the office of the county superintendent of schools, or any special school operated by the department. See California Education Code 49061
- Spouse: includes "registered domestic partner" as required by §. See California Corporations Code 12.2
- State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Water Code 18
- State: means the State of California. See California Public Utilities Code 3302
- State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Public Utilities Code 17
- Subdivision: means a subdivision of the section in which that term occurs unless some other section is expressly mentioned. See California Public Utilities Code 10
- Subdivision: means a subdivision of the section in which that term occurs unless some other section is expressly mentioned. See California Water Code 10
- substitute: means a person who performs the duties of the individual who made the notes on a temporary basis, and does not refer to a person who permanently succeeds the maker of the notes in his or her position. See California Education Code 49061
- Summons: Another word for subpoena used by the criminal justice system.
- Temporary restraining order: Prohibits a person from an action that is likely to cause irreparable harm. This differs from an injunction in that it may be granted immediately, without notice to the opposing party, and without a hearing. It is intended to last only until a hearing can be held.
- Trust account: A general term that covers all types of accounts in a trust department, such as estates, guardianships, and agencies. Source: OCC
- United States: means the United States of America, and in relation to any particular matter includes the officers, agents, employees, agencies, or instrumentalities authorized to act in relation thereto. See California Water Code 20
- water: includes the term "use of water. See California Water Code 1000
- Water Commission Act: means Chapter 586, Statutes of 1913, as amended. See California Water Code 1003
