The State Department of State Hospitals shall send to the Department of Veterans Affairs whenever requested a list of all persons who have been patients for six months or more in each state institution within the jurisdiction of the State Department of State Hospitals and who are known to have served in the Armed Forces of the United States.

  • institution: include every hospital, boarding home, or other place receiving or caring for persons with mental health disorders. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 4011
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
