During any period when this country is at war, a board of education may pay to the retirement board the mandatory contributions of members who were in its employ at the time of entering into the armed forces, as defined in section 27-103, on behalf of such members, in accordance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, 38 USC chapter 43, as amended from time to time.

- Board: means the Teachers' Retirement Board. See Connecticut General Statutes 10-183b
- Contributions: means amounts withheld pursuant to this chapter and paid to the board by an employer from compensation payable to a member. See Connecticut General Statutes 10-183b
