Connecticut General Statutes 10a-9c – Funding for fringe benefit costs for constituent unit employees
Notwithstanding any provision of the general statutes, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, and each fiscal year thereafter, the fringe benefit costs for all employees of the constituent units of the state system of higher education shall be funded as follows: (1) The Comptroller shall fund, from resources appropriated for the State Comptroller-Fringe Benefits, retirement of such employees, including, but not limited to, hazardous duty employees, in the state employees retirement system, an alternative retirement program, as defined in section 5-154, or the teachers’ retirement system, and (2) the constituent unit of the state system of higher education shall fund (A) coverage of employees under a group life insurance policy and the group hospitalization and medical and surgical insurance plans procured by the Comptroller pursuant to section 5-259, (B) unemployment compensation, and (C) employers’ Social Security Tax.
