The Department of Children and Families shall report any missing or abducted child who was committed to the custody of the commissioner to the law enforcement authority having jurisdiction over the geographical area from which the child was reported missing or was abducted. The department shall make such report immediately, but in no case later than twenty-four hours after the child is determined to be missing or abducted, to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Crime Information Center and to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
