The Commissioner of Social Services may amend the federal home and community-based service waivers serving persons with acquired brain injury and persons with intellectual disability to enable such persons eligible for or receiving medical assistance under section 17b-597 to receive the services provided under such federally approved waivers.

- intellectual disability: means a significant limitation in intellectual functioning existing concurrently with deficits in adaptive behavior that originated during the developmental period before eighteen years of age. See Connecticut General Statutes 1-1g
