Connecticut General Statutes 19a-4l – Office of Oral Public Health
There is established, within the Department of Public Health, an Office of Oral Public Health. The director of the Office of Oral Public Health shall be (1) a dental health professional with experience in public health and a license to practice under chapter 379 or 379a, (2) a person who holds the degree of doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy from an accredited institution of higher education, or (3) a public health professional with a graduate degree in public health, and shall:

- License: includes the whole or part of any Department of Public Health permit, approval or similar form of permission required by the general statutes and which further requires: (A) Practice of the profession by licensed persons only. See Connecticut General Statutes 19a-13
(A) Coordinate and direct state activities with respect to state and national dental public health programs;
(B) Serve as the department’s chief advisor on matters involving oral health; and
(C) Plan, implement and evaluate all oral health programs within the department.
