Connecticut Innovations, Incorporated may, upon application of the proposed mortgagee, insure and make advance commitments to insure mortgage payments required by a first mortgage on new machinery, equipment and buildings for the primary purpose of reducing, controlling or eliminating air pollution, certified as approved for such purpose by the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection, upon such terms and conditions as Connecticut Innovations, Incorporated may prescribe in accordance with the provisions of chapter 579.
Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 22a-173
- Air pollution: means the presence in the outdoor atmosphere of one or more air pollutants or any combination thereof in such quantities and of such characteristics and duration as to be, or be likely to be, injurious to public welfare, to the health of human, plant or animal life, or to property, or as unreasonably to interfere with the enjoyment of life and property. See Connecticut General Statutes 22a-170
- commissioner: means the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection or any member of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection or any local air pollution control official or agency authorized by him, acting singly or jointly, to whom he assigns any function arising under the provisions of this chapter or of any regulations adopted hereunder. - Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
- Mortgagee: The person to whom property is mortgaged and who has loaned the money.
