On and after July 15, 2024, each emergency dispatcher employed by a public safety answering point established and operated pursuant to section 28-25a shall, when practicable, conduct a search of any electronic database made available to such public safety answering point pursuant to section 7-294qq, when dispatching law enforcement, fire fighting, medical, ambulance or other emergency services to a residential address, for the purposes of (1) determining whether a child or adult with an intellectual disability or other developmental disabilities, including, but not limited to, autism spectrum disorder, a cognitive impairment or nonverbal learning disorder resides at such address, and (2) communicating information concerning any such child or adult to any such responding emergency services personnel.

Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 28-25c

  • intellectual disability: means a significant limitation in intellectual functioning existing concurrently with deficits in adaptive behavior that originated during the developmental period before eighteen years of age. See Connecticut General Statutes 1-1g
