With the approval of the Governor, the commissioner or the commissioner’s designee may: (1) Represent the state on any regional or interstate organization for civil preparedness and may, on behalf of the state, enter into reciprocal mutual aid arrangements with other states; (2) establish and operate such area or district offices as may be necessary to control and coordinate civil preparedness preparations and mutual aid among communities.
Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 28-4
- Civil preparedness: means all those activities and measures designed or undertaken (A) to minimize or control the effects upon the civilian population of major disaster or emergency, (B) to minimize the effects upon the civilian population caused or which would be caused by an attack upon the United States, (C) to deal with the immediate emergency conditions which would be created by any such attack, major disaster or emergency, and (D) to effectuate emergency repairs to, or the emergency restoration of, vital utilities and facilities destroyed or damaged by any such attack, major disaster or emergency. - Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection. See Connecticut General Statutes 28-1
- Governor: means the Governor or anyone legally administering the office of Governor. See Connecticut General Statutes 28-1
