(a) A person who violates any provision of sections 36a-831 to 36a-836, inclusive, is subject to civil suit in a court of competent jurisdiction.
Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 36a-837
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Person: means an individual, company, including a company described in subparagraphs (A) and (B) of subdivision (12) of this section, or any other legal entity, including a federal, state or municipal government or agency or any political subdivision thereof. (b) Any person who commences a civil action pursuant to subsection (a) of this section shall notify the Department of Banking upon filing such action.
