Not later than September 1, 1980, the Insurance Commissioner shall adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54, to ensure the availability of insurance on real property in the state by prohibiting unfair discrimination in the availability or sale of such insurance on the basis of location, age or disparity between replacement cost and market value of such property. Such regulations shall include, but not be limited to, a statement of those acts, practices or methods which are deemed to constitute such unfair discrimination.
Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 38a-824
- Commissioner: means the Insurance Commissioner. See Connecticut General Statutes 38a-1
- Insurance: means any agreement to pay a sum of money, provide services or any other thing of value on the happening of a particular event or contingency or to provide indemnity for loss in respect to a specified subject by specified perils in return for a consideration. See Connecticut General Statutes 38a-1
- Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
- State: means any state, district, or territory of the United States. See Connecticut General Statutes 38a-1
