(a) Any public record which a state agency provides to a contractor or subcontractor shall remain a public record for the purposes of subsection (a) of section 1-210.

Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 4d-35

  • Freedom of Information Act: A federal law that mandates that all the records created and kept by federal agencies in the executive branch of government must be open for public inspection and copying. The only exceptions are those records that fall into one of nine exempted categories listed in the statute. Source: OCC
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • State agency: means each department, board, council, commission, institution or other agency of the Executive Department of the state government, provided each board, council, commission, institution or other agency included by law within any given department shall be deemed a division of that department. (b) With regard to any public record, the state agency and the contractor or subcontractor shall have a joint and several obligation to comply with the obligations of the state agency under the Freedom of Information Act, as defined in section 1-200, provided the determination of whether or not to disclose a particular record or type of record shall be made by such state agency.
