Unless otherwise provided by town charter or code:

(1) The municipality shall have sufficient Election Officers to conduct the elections.

(2) The Inspector shall be the chief Election Officer in the polling place.

(3) The Inspector shall determine all challenges and all other issues involving the conduct of the election at the polling place. The Board of Elections may provide advice and guidance to the Election Officers.

(4) Election Officers individually and collectively shall conduct elections in a fair and equal manner.

(5) Election Officers who violate the provisions of subchapters IV or V of this chapter shall be removed forthwith by the Board of Elections.

Terms Used In Delaware Code Title 15 Sec. 7556

  • Board: means that body of individuals appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate to serve or who otherwise serve as the State Board of Elections in accordance with Chapter 2 of this title, and are, as such, vested with the responsibility and power to see to the administration of the election laws of this State as more particularly defined in this title. See Delaware Code Title 15 Sec. 101
  • Election officers: means the inspector of election, the 2 judges of election and the clerks of election who are appointed for each election district under § 4702 of this title. See Delaware Code Title 15 Sec. 101
  • Inspector: means inspector of elections. See Delaware Code Title 15 Sec. 101
