To obtain certification as a certified nursing assistant, all trainees must complete training in both classroom and clinical settings. The total clock hours of classroom and clinical training required for certification shall be determined by the Department through written order signed by the Secretary. At no time may the number of clock hours be less than those required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Terms Used In Delaware Code Title 16 Sec. 3002A

  • Certified nursing assistant: means a duly-certified individual under the supervision of a licensed nurse, who provides care that does not require the judgment and skills of a licensed nurse. See Delaware Code Title 16 Sec. 3001A
  • Department: means the Department of Health and Social Services. See Delaware Code Title 16 Sec. 3001A
  • Secretary: means the Secretary of the Department of Health and Social Services or such persons as may be designated by the Secretary. See Delaware Code Title 16 Sec. 101
