(a) The Department may establish regulations respecting the use of the Bridge and may contract with any person desiring the use of the Bridge, its approaches and appurtenances or any part thereof, including the approach highways, if any, for placing therein or thereon gas or oil pipelines, telephone, telegraph and electric wires or cables or for any other purpose and to fix the terms, conditions and rates of charge for such use.

Terms Used In Delaware Code Title 17 Sec. 309

  • Bridge: means the Delaware Memorial Bridge over the Delaware River and all approaches thereto and approach highways and all other buildings or structures connected with the Bridge and all equipment essential to the operation thereof and also all property rights, easements and franchises relating thereto and deemed necessary or convenient for the construction or operation thereof and may include any highways connecting the Bridge with a state road.   • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Department: means the Department of Transportation or if the Department is abolished, any board, commission or officer succeeding to the principal functions thereof or to whom the powers given by this chapter to the Department shall be given by law. See Delaware Code Title 17 Sec. 301

(b) Whoever violates any regulation established by the Department in respect to the use of the Bridge, including regulations established by the Department regulating traffic over such Bridge and its approaches or approach highways, shall be fined not more than $100 for each such offense.
