- Congregate housing facility: means a facility housing 8 or more homeless adults and children on a temporary basis. See Delaware Code Title 29 Sec. 7960
- Department: means the Department of Health and Social Services. See Delaware Code Title 29 Sec. 7972
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- State: means the State of Delaware; and when applied to different parts of the United States, it includes the District of Columbia and the several territories and possessions of the United States. See Delaware Code Title 1 Sec. 302
