(1) Pursuant to a resolution of the district school board, and from the funding available pursuant to subsection 2A-9.003(2), F.A.C., a County may award a grant to fund a student crime watch program pursuant to Florida Statutes § 1006.07(3)
(a) To promote responsibility among students;
(b) To improve school safety; and
(c) To allow students and the community to anonymously relay information concerning unsafe and potentially harmful, dangerous, violent, or criminal activities, or the threat of these activities, to appropriate public safety agencies and school officials.

(2) A student crime watch program is a program established and approved by resolution of the district school board:
(a) To promote responsibility among students;
(b) To improve school safety; and
(c) To allow students and the community to anonymously relay information concerning unsafe and potentially harmful, dangerous, violent, or criminal activities, or the threat of these activities, to appropriate public safety agencies and school officials.
