Florida Statutes § 589.011, provides that the Florida Forest Service on behalf of the state may adopt and enforce rules necessary for the protection, utilization, occupancy, and development of state forest lands or any lands leased by or otherwise assigned to the Service for management purposes. Any person violating or otherwise failing to comply with any of the provisions of Sections 589.011, 589.071 or 590.14, F.S., or rules adopted pursuant to Florida Statutes § 589.011, is guilty of a non-criminal violation as defined in Florida Statutes § 775.08(3), punishable only by fine not to exceed $1,000.00.
