(1) Pursuant to Florida Statutes § 570.70, the Rural and Family Lands Protection Program’s goals and objectives are to bring under public protection lands that serve to limit subdivision and conversion of agricultural and natural areas that provide economic, open space, water, and wildlife benefits by acquiring interests in land such as perpetual, less-than-fee acquisitions, agricultural protection agreements, and resource conservation agreements and innovative planning and development strategies in rural areas.

(2) Acquisitions described in this rule are for voluntary, negotiated acquisitions and conveyances under agreements for purchase of perpetual less-than-fee simple interests.
