(1) An occupational therapy doctoral capstone experience is a mentored and supervised advanced competency component of a study program for doctoral occupational therapy students at the end of the curriculum in which students are afforded opportunities to engage in practice and develop clinical and other skills.

    (2) A person intending to fulfill an occupational therapy doctoral capstone experience must submit an application to the department to qualify for the exemption from licensure provision at least 60 days prior to the capstone experience start date. Application for registration must be made on Form DH-MQA 5073, Application for Registration of Occupational Therapy Doctoral Capstone Experience, effective 05/2022, which is hereby incorporated by reference and available at http://www.flrules.org/Gateway/reference.asp?No=Ref-15559 or http://www.floridaoccupationaltherapy.gov/applications/5073.
    (3) Registration expires at the conclusion of the capstone experience or one year from the date of issuance, whichever is sooner.
    (4) If an occupational therapy doctoral capstone will be repeated for any reason, a new registration is required following the process outlined in subsection (2).
