(1) Advanced practice registered nurses may only prescribe controlled substances pursuant to the individual’s education, training, experience and protocol.
(3) Only advanced practice registered nurses who meet the definition of a psychiatric nurse as defined in Florida Statutes § 394.455, may prescribe psychiatric mental health controlled substances to children younger than 18 years of age.

(2) Advanced practice registered nurses must restrict prescriptions of Schedule II controlled substances as listed in
Florida Statutes § 893.03, to a 7-day supply. This restriction does not apply to prescription of controlled substances that are psychiatric medication prescribed by a psychiatric nurse as defined in Florida Statutes § 394.455
(3) Only advanced practice registered nurses who meet the definition of a psychiatric nurse as defined in Florida Statutes § 394.455, may prescribe psychiatric mental health controlled substances to children younger than 18 years of age.
