Terms Used In Florida Statutes 238.072

- Service: means service as a teacher as described in subsection (3) rendered while a member of the retirement system. See Florida Statutes 238.01
All state and county cooperative extension personnel holding appointments by the United States Department of Agriculture for extension work in agriculture and home economics in this state who are joint representatives of the University of Florida and the United States Department of Agriculture, as provided in s. 121.051(7), who are members of the Teachers’ Retirement System, chapter 238, and who are prohibited from transferring to and participating in the Florida Retirement System, chapter 121, may retire with full benefits upon completion of 30 years of creditable service and shall be considered to have attained normal retirement age under this chapter, any law to the contrary notwithstanding. In order to comply with the provisions of Fla. Const. Art. X, § 14, any liability accruing to the Florida Retirement System Trust Fund as a result of the provisions of this section shall be paid on an annual basis from the General Revenue Fund.
