Terms Used In Florida Statutes 479.04
- Business of outdoor advertising: means the business of operating, maintaining, leasing, or selling outdoor advertising structures, outdoor advertising signs, or outdoor advertisements. See Florida Statutes 479.01
- Department: means the Department of Transportation. See Florida Statutes 479.01
- Erect: means to construct, build, raise, assemble, place, affix, attach, create, paint, draw, or in any other way bring into being or establish. See Florida Statutes 479.01
- person: includes individuals, children, firms, associations, joint adventures, partnerships, estates, trusts, business trusts, syndicates, fiduciaries, corporations, and all other groups or combinations. See Florida Statutes 1.01
(1) A person may not engage in the business of outdoor advertising in this state without first obtaining a license from the department. Such license shall be renewed annually. The fee for such license, and for each annual renewal, is $300. License renewal fees are payable as provided for in s. 479.07.
(2) A person is not required to obtain the license provided for in this section solely to erect or construct outdoor advertising signs or structures.
