Terms Used In Florida Statutes 481.317
- Board: means the Board of Landscape Architecture. See Florida Statutes 481.303
- Certificate of registration: means a license issued by the department to a natural person to engage in the practice of landscape architecture. See Florida Statutes 481.303
- Department: means the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. See Florida Statutes 481.303
- Landscape architecture: means professional services, including, but not limited to, the following:(a) Consultation, investigation, research, planning, design, preparation of drawings, specifications, contract documents and reports, responsible construction supervision, or landscape management in connection with the planning and development of land and incidental water areas, including the use of Florida-friendly landscaping as defined in…. - Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
(1) Upon the approval by the board and payment of the fee set in s. 481.307, the department shall grant a temporary certificate of registration for work on a specified project in this state for a period not to exceed 1 year to an applicant who is licensed in another state or territory to practice landscape architecture.(2) The application for a temporary certificate shall constitute appointment of the Department of State as an agent of the applicant for service of process in any action or proceeding against the applicant arising out of any transaction or operation connected with or incidental to the practice of landscape architecture for which the temporary license was issued.
