- Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
Agents of the State Fire Marshal shall have the same authority to serve summonses, make arrests, carry firearms, and make searches and seizures, as the sheriff or her or his deputies, in the respective counties where such investigations, hearings, or inspections may be held; and affidavits necessary to authorize any such arrests, searches, or seizures may be made before any trial court judge having authority under the law to issue appropriate processes.
