No person may solicit, negotiate, sell, or execute legal expense insurance contracts on behalf of an insurer in this state unless such person is licensed and appointed as a sales representative or is licensed and appointed under the insurance code as a general lines agent. No person licensed and appointed as a legal expense insurance sales representative may solicit, negotiate, sell, or execute any other contract of insurance unless such person is duly licensed and appointed to do so under the provisions of chapter 626.
