- Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
- person: includes individuals, children, firms, associations, joint adventures, partnerships, estates, trusts, business trusts, syndicates, fiduciaries, corporations, and all other groups or combinations. See Florida Statutes 1.01
A peace officer may use any reasonable force to liberate himself or herself or another person from detention in a building entered for the purpose of making a lawful arrest.
