- Bail: Security given for the release of a criminal defendant or witness from legal custody (usually in the form of money) to secure his/her appearance on the day and time appointed.
- bond: include any and all forms of pretrial release. See Florida Statutes 903.011
Bail by sureties may be substituted for a deposit of money or bonds as bail any time before a breach of the bond.
