Terms Used In Florida Statutes 315.04

  • political subdivision: include counties, cities, towns, villages, special tax school districts, special road and bridge districts, bridge districts, and all other districts in this state. See Florida Statutes 1.01
Except as hereinafter provided in this section, and except as provided in s. 315.03(1), the approval or consent of any other political subdivision or public body, agency or instrumentality of the State of Florida, except the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund, shall not be required for the exercise of any of the powers granted by this law. Any municipality located in a county authorized by law to operate port facilities or in which there is a port district or a port authority shall exercise any powers granted by this law only if the governing body of such county, port district or port authority shall by resolution determine that the best interests of the county will be served thereby and consent thereto. The State of Florida hereby consents to the exercise of any and all powers granted by this law without further authorization or approval thereof by any of its agencies or instrumentalities, except as may be required from the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund as to the use of any state lands lying under water which are necessary for the accomplishment of the purposes of this law.
