Terms Used In Florida Statutes 395.7016

  • Agency: means the Agency for Health Care Administration. See Florida Statutes 395.002
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
The Legislature shall appropriate each fiscal year from either the General Revenue Fund or the Agency for Health Care Administration Tobacco Settlement Trust Fund an amount sufficient to replace the funds lost due to the reduction by chapter 2000-256, Laws of Florida, in the assessment on hospitals under s. 395.701 and to maintain federal approval of the reduced amount of funds deposited into the Public Medical Assistance Trust Fund under s. 395.701 as state match for the state’s Medicaid program.
