Terms Used In Florida Statutes 406.51

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Unclaimed remains: means human remains that are not claimed by a legally authorized person, other than a medical examiner or the board of county commissioners, for final disposition at the person's expense. See Florida Statutes 406.49
Any contract by a local governmental entity for the final disposition of unclaimed remains must provide for compliance with s. 406.50(2) and require that the procedures in 38 C.F.R. 38.620, relating to disposition of unclaimed deceased veterans, are followed.
