Terms Used In Florida Statutes 501.34
- Insurer: includes an insurance company and any person authorized to represent the insurer with respect to a claim and who is parting within the scope of the person's authority. See Florida Statutes 501.32
- Repair facility: means a motor vehicle dealer, garage, body shop, or other commercial entity which undertakes the repair or replacement of those parts that generally constitute the exterior of a motor vehicle. See Florida Statutes 501.32
- Violation of this part: means any violation of this act or the rules adopted under this act and may be based upon any of the following as of July 1, 2017:(a) Any rules promulgated pursuant to the Federal Trade Commission Act, 15 U. See Florida Statutes 501.203(1) Any violation of this part by an insurer shall be deemed a violation of the Unfair Insurance Trade Practices Act, part IX, chapter 626.(2) Any violation of this part by a repair facility shall be deemed a violation of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, part II, this chapter.
